Some common characteristics include all foods having 25 years of shelf life, all bulk foods are designed to be easy to prepare, and you will be getting 10 bags of food per bucket.

The total amount of calories ranges from 840 calories to 1600 calories depending on the type of food.

All the bulk foods sold are made with clean ingredients, without any additives which are harmful to our body.

For every bulk food product purchased, you will be getting 1 bucket containing 10 bags of that particular product.

Since there are various kinds of bulk foods available, different kinds of bulk foods are suitable for different needs.

For example, the Whole Powdered Egg is one of the better food to consume at the start of the day for breakfast, while the Chicken Teriyaki is something you’ll want to have for lunch or dinner.

Thoughts

It’s a pretty good feeling to know that you have a variety of bulk foods available for consumption especially when shit hit the fan.

5. Water Storage Solutions

Valley Food Storage also sells items that allows you to have long-term water supply. This is especially important when Shit Hit the Fan and you do not have sufficient clean water.

The company sells two items for survival water supply:

1. Pressure Water Filter Straw; and

2. 55 Gallon Rain Barrel.

The Pressure Water Filter Straw allows you to turn most water source into drinkable water. This water filter uses a membrane cartridge to get rid of 99.9% of harmful bacteria from the liquid. You’ll be able to make sure all water you drink are safe.

While the 55 Gallon Rain Barrel is FDA-grade. The walls of the barrel is thick and durable. The barrel is designed to be stored outdoor as well. The barrel is a rain catcher, so you’ll be able to store rain water. To effectively get the rain water, you can use the gutter drainage as well.

Therefore, I’ll rate this criteria as above average. This is mainly because the range of food products offered by Valley Food Storage is plenty.

Unlike some food kits that may offer less than 8 types of food, Valley Food Storage offers a wide range of products that include various food items.

I can assure you that the quality and taste of the products are EXCELLENT. The entrees offered and food products given are one of the tastiest in the market.

Don’t just take my word for it, you can try it yourself.

Alternatively, you can search for other people’s honest review. Their food are simply tasty.  Despite it being a long-term food kit, it tastes like a gourmet meal. There is no overpowering flavors and there’s no chemical after tastes. 

Valley Food Storage aren’t stingy. They provide the food which tastes full, not bland. Food products which are spicy aren’t overly hot. The Mac & Cheese and Irish Cheddar Potato soup are amongst the best tasting food.

Their freeze-dried fruit is one of the best in the market. You’ll be surprised how good they taste. If you have kids, I’m sure your kids will love them.

Of course, you can’t compare them against the Mountain House, which is one of the best in the industry in terms of taste.

However, Valley Food Storage do pretty decent. Its quality and taste is comparable to other industry leaders like Augason Farms and Wise.

3. Ease of Preparation

For this aspect, I’ll review how easy it is to prepare and clean-up after meals.

What – What do you need to prepare your meals?

It depends on what you are cooking.

If you want to rehydrate food such as soup, or food which contains rice or beans, you may want to add at least 5 cups of water while preparing a meal for 1 person. 5 cups of water is equivalent to 1,182.94 milliliter of water.

How – Basically, how you prepare your meal is by pouring 1,182.94 milliliter of boiling water into the contents of the pack. Then, you will have to let it simmer for around 5 minutes.

However, there are a few exceptions. For example, the Italian Wild Risotto and the Enchilada Beans & Rice requires at least 20 minutes of simmering. This is because these types of food require longer time to rehydrate. Cooking these kinds of food will require you to use more fuel because you’ll need to simmer them longer.

Take note that the higher altitude you are, the longer amount of time you will need to simmer your food.

However, most foods offered by Valley food storage only require 3 to 5 minutes of simmering. Plus, you only need minimum cooking utensils to cook your food. All you need to have is a stove and enough drinking water. If you want to be more careful, you may want to bring along a long handle spoon and a cooking pot.
